Activities of the think tank will take place in Riga, Kaunas and Tallinn from August 2022 until February 2023.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.google.com\/forms\/d\/e\/1FAIpQLSe8ayZB0xiCmzQM1WByFn6yR9n1MtIqdKUNihR-JX8fiMKEDQ\/viewform?vc=0&amp;c=0&amp;w=1&amp;flr=0\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The call for participants of the performing arts think tank Baltic Current is now open for application.<\/a>\u00a0Read the full call below and apply by 1st April 2022 at 23:59 EET.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><br \/>\nAbout the performing arts think tank Baltic Current<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Baltic Current is a platform for mutual learning, sharing of expertise and support for the next generation of performing arts practitioners from the Baltics. It consists of a series of workshops that are designed to nurture artistic practice and understanding of the current performing arts environment in the Baltics as well as encourage communication, networking and collaboration among participants. The workshops will take place in the theatre \u0122ertr\u016bdes ielas te\u0101tris (Riga), the Kaunas City Chamber Theatre and the festival Starting Point as well as in the performing arts platform S\u00f5ltumatu Tantsu Lava (Tallinn).<br \/>\nThe think tank consists of four in-person and two online meetings, which are designed to actively involve participants in the co-creation of shared knowledge. The activities will encourage participants to build up resilience, articulate limits, learn to dare and challenge themselves, develop habits and practices that serve their human and artistic identity. The participants will have the support of experienced international mentors from the performing arts field. Throughout the programme the participants will develop joint creative proposals to present at a pitching session at the end of the programme. More information about the programme and mentors will be published shortly.<br \/>\n<strong>Dates and activities<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>August 24th-27th, 2022, Riga, Latvia<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 in-person workshop at \u0122ertr\u016bdes ielas te\u0101tris. Focus: developing artistic practice, resilience and responsibility. Coach: Eva Hartmann (DE, Berlin), who has been a coach since 2013, and also works as a freelance dramaturg and producer of the theatre collective Gob Squad. Focus: skill of giving feedback and moderating professional conversation; the role of the festival in the ecology of the performing arts. The workshop will include meetings with Lithuanian performing arts practitioners.<br \/>\n<strong>October 26th, 2022 \u2013 online meeting<\/strong>. Coach: Eva Hartmann<br \/>\n<strong>November 23rd-27th, 2022, Tallinn, Estonia<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 in-person workshop at S\u00f5ltumatu Tantsu Lava. Focus: strategies for devising a performance and the process of development of a co-created artistic work. Meetings with Estonian performing arts practitioners included. Coaches: artists from the theatre collective andcompany&amp;Co, which is one of the leading collective in the contemporary performing arts scene. Coach: Eva Hartmann<br \/>\n<strong>February 9th-12th, 2023, Riga, Latvia<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 in-person workshop at \u0122ertr\u016bdes ielas te\u0101tris. Focus: presentation of ideas, pitching session with an international audience. Coach: Eva Hartmann<br \/>\n<strong>Profile of the participants<\/strong><br \/>\nWe are looking for performing arts professionals under 35 with at least two years of professional experience in the contemporary arts field from the Baltic states. Creatives from various professions are encouraged to apply, including, but not limited to directing, performing, dance, composing, scenography, playwriting, dramaturgy, producing etc. The selection of the participants will be done by the organisers.<br \/>\nWe are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and welcome applicants from all backgrounds and nationalities, if they are residents in any of the Baltic states.<br \/>\n<strong>Participation fee<\/strong><br \/>\nParticipation in the programme is free of charge, however, participants must be able to cover the cost of travel from their country of residence to the workshops, as well as to cover the cost of their meals. The organisers will assist in supporting individual fundraising for these expenses if necessary. Accommodation for non-local workshop members in each city will be provided by the organisers.<br \/>\n<strong>Important notes<\/strong><br \/>\nParticipants must commit to take part in all of the workshops.<br \/>\nThe working language will be English, therefore proficiency of the language is a requirement.<br \/>\n<strong>How to apply?<\/strong><br \/>\nTo apply for the performing arts think tank Baltic Current, please access the application form via the button below.
